Pal, old one...

Pal, old one...
---

We often know that a wine is at its best when it is stored for certain years before drinking, call aging; likewise, a good piece of steak also need a 21day period before serving. So, do friends 'aging' as well??

Well, that I'm not sure, but I did spent five hours at SFO tonight, or last night, to meet with an old friend from elementary school, whom, I have not seen for twenty years; yeah, we graduated from that 6th grade twenty years ago...

It's a warm feeling to actually see one another after such a long time, yet we were 'small' when we departed, but the reconnection just seem, so natural, so, it-should-be-that-way sort of feelings.

We do, have many connections with old classmates in the last couple years, not sure who started it, but just one by one, each of us appears out of no where and regroup again. Each of the regrouping just felt right on the spot, and each of us, enjoy it, every moment of it.

We, all came out of an elementary school from Taipei, and interestingly enough, about one third of our classmates are abroad, either immigrated or study in N.America or other part of the world. Funny part is, some of us often meet in U.S., rather than Taiwan. Life do has its invisible hands, even our old teacher plan to 'migrate' to U.S., well, one of her daughter is in U.S.

So, what's it like to meet an old pal? with her husband and father-in-law? If you ask me, it's totally COOL!!! The time spent with them is worthwhile and very fun. Her father-in-law is way too cool and with so much depth in him that I can't stop to want to dig out more, of the history and cultural experience he had, that's the part I think I want to learn more. Oh, they are not Asian, if you want to know...

As I often suggested, intercultural relationships do have more fun than mere in-group marriages... don't attack me, but I think that's a better way to understand each other's culture... especially we do live in this land of freedom. We should find a way to truly understand the value, beauty of this land that we can't learn from textbooks, or an outsider's view.

So, why I had the chance to meet them? well, because they just transfer flights here in SFO to Taiwan, I just grab them out during the break time, which is... yeah, five hours... and I glad I asked her for the chance to meet.

The best to come is that... well, I'm off to Taiwan this weekend as well... hahaha~~ I suppose we should have more time to get together, heck, we must have!!! We live so close together and it's the 20th year, we outta to have reunion of some sort in Taipei... That... is in the plan phase... and we will enact it out~ ^__^

Yeah, I should get sleep... bit, 'early' now... yet, aging friends do 'taste' good... the warmth among us, just keep us, smile~

sun shines on everybody~
