** It should have been "I was not born while you were born, When I was born you were old". 🤘😝

But literal translation would be too wordy and doesn't really represent the rhyme of the entire verse; as word to word translation of majority of the Chinese poems are just, not applicable...

Basically this verse was discovered from Tang Dynasty ceramics, part of the 21 verses, as the decor and showing some 'literature value at the time'.

The verse could represent the age gap between lovers who met at the different stage of their life that sharing the love, if any, would be too short of time, thus have to let each other go, to reduce the regrets and sorrow when one departs the world.

It also, can interpret as the Love, between Father-Daughter, Mother-Son, that the relationship between 'true love', should not be bond between lovers, but family members.

All in all, this discovered verse, is a way to show us, that ancient people can use limited words, to "speak various meaning of Love", in a beautiful verse, till today...
