Our city of Saratoga, has no street lights whatsoever, only limited in major sections; for one, we're very ‘Green’ ♻️🔋⁉️since the beginning, or too lazy to install them, or city doesn't want to pay the electricity bills... 👍😬 but it's all part of the privacy security... I think... you know, strangers do get lost within the city... even with GPS.

So, newer homeowners coming into the neighborhood, would often complain about the darkness in the neighborhood, and how "unsafe" that is...👾😱😱😱 usually they'd install tons of yard lights at the front, or if the house is been rebuilt anew, they will keep it as bright as possible, to, "feel safe"... as the beacon of the street.. 🏡💡💡💡☀️😏😎
One consequence of being too bright is: burglary and break-ins.. like twice a year or something, to force them to install the home alarm system. 💸💸💸
Where us, older homeowners/inhabitants, never had such issues before.. ❓🤷♀️🤷♂️
I suppose, in thieves' mind, "If you want to show off, I'll pay a visit".. 😈😈😈
But, for one day a year, those "Bright lights", will mysteriously turned off, as if PG&E cuts the power down to save Earth...

Window curtains shut, driveway vehicles missing, all lights off as much as possible... sometimes, falling yellow leaves pile up, here and there, to create, the real Halloween haunted house Cosplay, for the neighborhood... 🍂🍁🍂🍁🍂🥀
Our street, finally, one day a year, turns the dial back, to the '90s..

then, you'll see, those who keeps dark for 364 days, brighten their house up, to guide and provide warmth, for those Halloween children.. to see their smiles, and hear yelling of "Trick or Treat!!!" 😇

Unfortunately, only 3 out of 10 houses will light up, thus, maximum 3 groups of visit, each year, on a good day.. it's usually one or two. Down from the heyday of 20+ groups.. 😔
Clock ticker past 10pm, as the 364-Dark-House's light turns off, the 364-Bright-Houses' light turns on; haunted house Cosplay turnover to shining proud property again, the beacon of the street is back.

Such a mystery, such a wonder... and this disease is spreading around, without notice...
Yes, Asian new comers, Chinese & Indians, you sure are cheap to the bone... and disgusting to the soul.

Yet, come to think of it, it might be a good thing, who knew what type of cheap candies they'd offer?? It's probably better, if they don't offer anything at all, for children's sake.. 🤔🤫🙁😓
